A cowboy rides into a town and stops in front of the saloon. He ties up his horse, goes inside and orders a beer. After drinking his beer, he goes out again, only to discover that his horse has been stolen.

Furious, he goes back into the saloon, pulls out his pistol and shoots into the air. “I’m going to have another beer,” he says to the frightened guests, “and if I come back out and my horse isn’t back, the same thing will happen here as in Dodge City!”

He goes back to the bar and orders another beer. When he has finished it, he goes out and sees that his horse is back.

As he mounts his horse, the bartender comes out and asks, “What happened in Dodge City?”

The cowboy looks at him and says: “I had to walk home.”
